Previously accused as being the third party between Kevin Cheng's five-year romance with Nikki Chow, Charmaine Sheh has finally stepped forth and acknowledged her past relationship with Cheng. The pair were said to be dating for two years, and mutually split up earlier last month. Having long evaded and refuted rumours about a romance with Cheng, Sheh magnanimously clarified, "Why don't you put it this way? For every love relationship, you must first go through the understanding and communication stage. I admit that Kevin and I have reached this stage but nothing happened beyond this." "Maybe it was the differences in our characters. It is more suitable for us to remain as friends. Sometimes we can't accommodate each other because of a clash in work schedules, barely getting the chance to communicate and see each other." Sheh denied that their breakup was due to her high income and high-ranking position in the entertainment industry. She further clarified that Cheng was already a single man when she got to know him, negating all accusations of her "third-party" act. Previously, it was reported that Cheng was seen chasing Sheh off the car. The 34-year-old actress laughed at the statement and replied, "Which action showed that he was chasing me off his car? When you board a car, you have to alight from it too." On the talk of marriage plans, Sheh confessed that she has been attending a few weddings lately. She shared that love is more important than money. With a certain level of success attained in her acting career, Sheh expressed satisfaction with her current standing and revealed that she is willing to spend more time on love now. "I have already achieved most of what I have originally set out to do. There is only one thing that I have yet to try, that is to get married and have kids."
